1 – After approximately 10 to 15 years of intensive use of a roller shutter, natural wear and tear will cause damage to the slats, profile and panels.
The part of the armour that operates within the guide rail becomes damaged, and this is generally invisible to the gate user. Although the gate continues to open and close as if normally, we are unknowingly shortening the motor’s service life, as this type of damage causes additional resistance which, during the gate’s operation, translates into an increased load on the motor. Admittedly, a well-designed and correctly selected motor should have a power reserve of around 20–30% of its rated capacity, but it should not be operating under extreme load all the time. .
2 – If, for example, only one hanger is damaged, the door will of course continue to operate for a while, but ignoring this will cause the remaining hangers to break. In this case, no safety measures will help; the door will fall down. Therefore, book a visit from our service technician to extend the gate’s service life and ensure it operates without faults.
